good wet, rainy, flooded morning from my neck of the woods. we had over 3 and half inches of rain and it's still going, plus it's cold. did I say it's cold, well it is. and I'm over it. not that there's a lot I can do about it, but I'm over it. hahaha I really do feel for the people in North Carolina and other places still dealing with the ravages of hurricane Helene, now dealing with the flooding. it just doesn't seem to stop. but I'll tell you what, if you wanna know what true grit is, just watch what's going on there and how North Carolinians are dealing with it. these people have the can do attitude and they're getting it done. there has been some awesome volunteers, it's very humbling to see how people have given right from their hearts. some have given all they have to give. it reminds me of the lady who gave her talent and Jesus said that she gave all she had, when she had nothing to give while the others gave out of their abundance. she gave sacrificially, they gave to be seen. these people giving of their time and ability in NC, they are giving sacrificially. I pray for the Lord to bless them in a mighty way and I know He will.

today we're picking back up at 2 Chronicles Chapter 7. the word shekinah doesn't actually appear in Hebrew scripture, but it's the suggestion or the idea that means dwelling or settling to describe the manifestation of the presence of God. God was with the Israelites when they left Egypt and His presence was seen in the cloud by day and fire by night. Jesus Christ could be described as the shekinah of God's glory. Jesus was God in human form and dwelled among us. but for now we are talking about how God dwelled in the Tabernacle and Temple. Solomon prayed and fire came down from heaven and consumed the sacrifices and the presence of God, the glory of God filled the Lord's house. to be where the presence of God is should be our desire. longing to be in the presence of God should be where our heart is at. that will only happen when we accept Christ as our personal Lord and Savior.
Solomon was the greatest of all kings on earth with wealth and wisdom. then Solomon died and his son became king. and this king abandoned the Law of the Lord and he did not seek the heart of God. if we want to be in right standing with God, we must seek His heart. what a powerful statement. seek the heart of God. this really hits hard and shows me where I'm lacking. then this king dies and his son takes over as king.
covenant of salt only appears in scripture 2 times. and it's referring to the everlasting covenant bond, relationship, that God has with His people. an eternal promise that will be fulfilled when Christ comes again. looking further at salt in general, in scripture we see salt used as a preservative and it symbolizes a lasting, enduring covenant. several times in the New Testament salt is used to refer to Christians as being the salt of the earth. if you want to do another good word study, do one on salt as relating to uses in scripture.
next time we will pick up in 2 Chronicles Chapter 19.
---------------------------------
I hope we all have a blessed day and that we will keep God first place and that we will seek ways to be salt for other people. have you ever thought of seeking God heart? that's what God desires for all of us to do. seek His heart. lets do that. it will be life transforming for sure. be blessed y'all, hugs and love, patty
