Bible Study and my stuffed salmon

good morning beautiful children of God.          I hope and pray that wherever you are today, that you know you are blessed to be a part of this incredible day.         I woke up to snow and it's still snowing.    I don't know how much longer it will snow, but we're supposed to be in a deep freeze for the next few days.        praise God for heat.        I also pray that the electricity stays on.        we just try to be prepared.        and, for now, I just keep thinking forward to spring.        and seed starting time.        working on planning out my container garden keeps my mind occupied with good thoughts.        we all need good thoughts.         and when I'm in my garden, I'm always walking and talking with the Master Gardener Himself, God.        He knows what He's doing, me, not so much.       but I do enjoy my time in the garden with my Lord and Savior.         so let's look forward to those times and not fret so much about what we see outside.        I can remember when we didn't worry so much about winter weather.        but back then, we wasn't as dependent on all the new fangled things that we are today and most of those things require a lot of electricity.         so for me, I guess that's why I have a tendency to think about power outages and things like that.       so I'll pray against the bad that can happen and ask God to help me trust Him more, in all things.       sounds like a good plan.        if you have a tendency to worry about stuff out of your control, join me in "letting go and letting God".        it's a good plan.

back to the kitchen with another "2 minutes in the kitchen with me".           this is what my stuffed salmon looked like.          I can't get the pic turned to the right orientation, I'm so sorry about that.      but this is ready to drop in the air fryer.          my balls of salmon stuffing was pretty big, but it was the perfect amount.

this is what our plates looked like.          this has sweet potatoes on it and my asian salad dressing on my salad.         I'm telling you, this was sooooooo good!!! 

this one was my husbands plate with the russet potatoes and thousand island dressing. 

this is both plates with all our taters and salad and salmon, stuffed salmon that is.         hahaha

it was better than I could have imagined.         and my husband was thrilled with it.         he actually said that it was better than the original and it was!!!          it was so good.          I have 4 more balls of stuffing in the freezer and I'll be using them pretty quickly.          hahaha           so my recipe will be a keeper and I'll try to remember to get the recipe as exact as I can.          but if you're used to winging it, you can make do with what I've already shared.          I hope you give this a try.         I had planned on trying to change the recipe before having tried it.          but not now.         I'm tickled pink over this!!       woohoo!!!!

let's get back to Numbers 15, with more laws for Gods chosen people.         I'll have to say it again, that I'm so thankful to have been born on this side of the cross.        the foot of the cross is equal to everyone and there are no laws to fulfill.        my husband and I are always talking about this and we say that the laws were to show us just how sinful we are and how easy it is to break a law and be guilty.        when Jesus died on the cross, God tore the curtain from top to bottom, opening the Holy of Holies to the common person, thru the shed blood of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.       praise God for the cross.

verses 37 thru 41 is where God told them to make tassels with a violet thread in each tassel.    then put the tassels on the corners of their garments as a reminder to follow God and not to follow their own heart and their own eyes, which led them to sin, or prostitute themselves.      it will be a reminder of all that God had done for them thus far.      if you'll remember in the New Testament, the woman with the issue of blood wanted only to touch hem of Jesus' garment.       some have said that at the hem was the tassels and this is what she wanted to touch.       there was no power in the tassels, she just knew if she could just touch His tassel, she would be healed.       and praise God she was.     I know people today that were tassels on their clothes just as a personal reminder to themselves of who they are and of what God has done for them.        I would love to have some tassels for myself just as a reminder of the faithfulness of God and of all His blessings He has heaped upon me in my lifetime.

and just like that in chapter 16, we have rebellion, again.       who would have thought such a thing.    Moses was a man of humility and he proves it time and time again.       God opened the earth around the rebellious evil wicked men and swallowed up their entire families and all their belongings.    and fire consumed the other 250 men who were rebellious too.      after all this, more grumbling the very next day.        we are a complaining bunch of humanity, aren't we.  

I am so thankful that we don't have to keep the laws.         I am just so thankful that I have Jesus Christ as my covering.       

Miriam died and Moses struck the rock with the staff of the Lord and claimed part in the miracle.       then God told Moses that he would not come into the promised land because of his disobedience.        how many times do we want to claim a part of what God has done in our lives?         this is making works a part of salvation when we do that.         the plain truth is, the only works that's in our salvation is Jesus Christ and the work He done on the cross.         we believe or don't believe.        that's it.       no works on our part.        and for Aaron's part in striking the rock, he died where they were.        he didn't get to go to the promised land either.

again in chapter 21, the people grumble and complain against God.        they just can't help.         guess what, I/we just can't help it either.          because we grumble and complain a lot.         this is when the Lord sent serpents to bite the people of Israel and they died.       so Moses made a fiery serpent on a flag pole and who ever was bitten and looked at the flag pole would live.      guess what, when we look up to the cross and see Christ in our place and believe in Christ, we live.       our earth suits will eventually die, but the heavenly garments will go with us into eternity.       praise God!!!         as they followed the will of God, God gave them the land.       as long as they were obedient to God they prospered as it was God's will for them to claim the land.

if you want to know why donkeys are smarter than humans, then read chapter 22.      in the following chapters what started out to be curses for God's people ended up being blessings for God's people and curses for the ones that was wanting the curses to be on the Israelites.        God works it for His good and His glory every time.        sometimes He has has to use a talking donkey.

and just like that, they sin again.          God had said time and time again not to have anything to do with heathens in the countries He was sending them to.          but they always found themselves taking on the ways of the other people.       they was worshiping false gods and offering sacrifices and that actually led to human sacrifice.           God told Moses for the Israelites to be hostile towards the people of the land for all the trickery and deception.

in chapter 26 we'll be looking at a new generation of people.

well, I guess I'll wrap this up today.    blessings on you today.         I pray that we all have a great day and that we can remember the goodness of God and that He is a jealous God.         He wants to be the only One that our heart searches for and craves.        may we each find Him today and claim Him as our Lord and Savior thru the shed blood of Jesus Christ.         than You God for all you have done for me/us.

Bible Study and home version of stuffed salmon

good morning my beautiful friends, from my very dark neck of the woods.          the sun definitely isn't shining and it looks as if it's been sprinkling.       I don't know what's coming next weatherwise, but they are calling for it to be significant.         we'll have to wait and see.         I just pray against anything really bad.        I keep looking forward to spring.         it will be here before long, I hope.        as I sit here, I don't hear much outside noise.          that's unusual for a saturday morning.        I heard the train in the distance about 15 minutes ago and it sounded kinda lonely.        well, I don't if it was lonely or not, the horn just sounded kinda sick.       hahaha         it's unusual that I don't even hear dogs barking in the distance.          nor any small planes from the airport.         saturdays is when a lot of pilots are trying to log hours and we'll hear them a lot.        so we'll see, that may pick up a little later on.         anyway, that's about the gist of what's happening, or should I say, what's not happening in my neck of the woods.

picking up with Numbers 7 this morning and Moses has gotten the tabernacle set up according to Gods commands.         all the leaders of Israel gave dedication offerings on 12 appointed days to anoint the alter.       all the offerings was made to God's specifications.         the Levites were assigned by God to be the overseers of the tabernacle and all things holy.        and just like people, just like we do, even when God is directing and leading us in every way, what do we do?         we complain!!!!          yes, we do, and that's what they done, they complained.        

the anger of the Lord was kindled  against the  complainers and He just got rid of them, He burned them.         the rabble rousers started complaining and wishing they were back in Egypt with all the tasty food they had.        remember, Esau sold his birthright to Isaac for a bowl of porridge.        our bellies have always been our biggest guide.        what have you given in to, to feed a craving?          we have all given into the cravings of sin at one time or another.         there is no denying it.        

and like the Israelites, some of us have wandered around in sin for 40 years or more.        they could have circled the globe multiple times in that span of time, but they just wandered around in one place for years!!!        most of the the sin that we are in, hiding, dealing with, is just one step away from freedom if we're willing to to turn and face God and walk towards Him.         

they had nothing to eat, but the manna that God had provided for them and the quail that God had provided for them.        the people was such a burden to Moses with all their complaining that he even asked God to kill him at one point, if all their burdens was going to rest on his shoulders.        this is when the Lord took some of the burden from Moses and gave it to 70 proven men.       God took some of the Holy Spirit from Moses and gave it to these men.           Moses said the people was going to eat so much over a period of 30 days that they would become nauseated at the sight and mention of food, because they rejected God.          when God provided, the people were greedy.          even Aaron and Miriam was murmuring and complaining against Moses.         God gave Miriam leprosy.          she was put outside the camp for 7 days.         

the time came for spies to be sent out and when they returned with word about the country that Moses sent them too, the people were afraid.         land of giants and they could not take the country from them.         Caleb thought differently.         do you think differently about the situations you find yourself in?         is it too much for you?         of course it is, but with God all things are possible.         and Caleb and Joshua knew that God had been with them and that He would continue to be with them.         guess what, more rebellion, more grumbling, more crying, wishing for Egypt again.        

oh that there were more people like Caleb and Joshua in the world today.        trusting what God has already done and knowing that He will do the impossible for us when we trust Him.       it's funny that when they stood up for what they knew God could and would do, the people wanted to stone Caleb and Joshua.       at this point, God was angry enough to kill the grumblers.        but Moses knew that the other countries had seen the power of their "I AM THAT I AM" and they feared His power.      Moses pleaded with God not to destroy the complainers based on the greatness of God's mercy alone.     God let the grumblers and complainers die in the desert over the course of their lifetime.       40 years!!!!

in reality, leaving a life of sin is not easy.         one thing for sure, we cannot do it on our own.         but we, just like the Israelites, forget that with God all thing are possible.         so when it seems like you are up against an unconquerable task, sin or  whatever, don't  even attempt it by yourself.       make sure that you surrender it all to God.          He can and will break the chains of sin over our lives if we will let Him.

ok, hope on board for the "2 minutes in the kitchen with me" train, chew chew!!!         hahahaha         so, I think I shared some stuffed salmon that I got at aldi the other day and it was scrumptious to last nibble.          I'm pretty handy in kitchen so I set out to make my own.        while $9.99 wont break the bank, I'm pretty sure that with a well stocked kitchen, I can do this and get several meals for that same money.         no, I'm even gonna attempt to break it down by what it cost to make it, but I've been around the store several times in my life and I know that anything I can replicate will be much cheaper.

in the pic above, most of the bread crumbs are mine (some was store bought), the chicken bouillon is mine, and the onions and garlic is mine.        by mine I mean I made those things from scratch.         the bread crumbs on one end and the almond milk on the other end is fully store bought and the little pkt of ginger sesame tuna.          so we can control a lot of things that we put in our foods.     

as per usual, I forgot to take a picture of the stuffing in the bowl where I mixed.          I only remembered  to take a pic after I had it pkged for the freezer.         I made a large enough batch, to have 2 more meals from this first batch.

I vac sealed the 4 in this bag and tossed them in the freezer.         I'm thinking I can use this with any fish I want.          but for today, it will be used with salmon.         when I put the stuffing in the salmon, I'll put a pat of butter on top of each one and that should help keep the stuffing good and moist and then I'll brush my teriyaki sauce on the salmon and pop it all in the air fryer.         we'll see how it turns out in the air fryer.          I'll try to remember to take pics.

"Patty's Salmon Stuffing"

this is all just guess-timates on everything I used.          if this turns out good, I'll do a complete recipe with measurements, till then, this is as good as it gets.      hahaha

about 3/4 cup of stuffing mix

about 1/2 cup of 4C bread crumbs with percorino romano cheese

about a tablespoon of my chicken bouillon

about a tablespoon each of my minced garlic and minced onion

1 pkt of some kind of seasoned tuna.   I would opt for something on the mild side.      we want to compliment the fish, not over power it.

and then enough almond milk to bring it together and hydrate all the bread crumbs, stuffing mix and dehydrated onions and garlic.

next batch I make, I'll try using some of my homemade stock in the freezer, I just didn't think about it in time to thaw some out.        and homemade fish stock would be even more wonderful.

I have my salmon thawing and I'll split the salmon and put one of those little bundles in the opening and brush my salmon with teriyaki sauce and air fry it for about 15 minutes or till it reaches 145* internal temp.        I'll also put a pat of butter on the stuffing to prevent it from drying out.       I may do that when I take it from the airfryer, I don't know yet.

I'm pretty sure most of what I have dehydrated has been shared on my blog somewhere.   

but, this is what's for lunch and I'll share the pics in another blog post.

Bible Study and stuffed salmon

good morning my sweet friends.          I pray all is well in your world today.         so far, it seems pretty quiet in my neck of the woods.          it's not as cold this morning as it was yesterday morning and I'm happy about that.        I have sourdough on the counter proofing and later I'll get the loaves made and let them rise and bake them.          the only reason I mention that is because I can smell the rising dough from where I'm sitting and my husband can too.         he mentioned it earlier and said that he smells something that will be delicious.        and it will be.       we have an errand to run today so I'm trying to get everything done that I can and then when we get back, I can get right to making my mini loaves of bread.         if I can remember, I'll share pics of my bread.

so I made the weekly trip to aldi yesterday and I got something I have never gotten before.        but I can say emphatically, that I will be getting this again!!!           we both enjoyed it so much and it was a very nice meal in the comfort of my own home, which I also love!!! 

a couple of weeks ago as I was walking thru the store and found my way to the fresh meat dept, I walked by the fresh salmon slabs to check the prices.         a lady was standing there and she looked around and she asked if I had ever tried the stuffed salmon.          I told her that I had not, just because it was plain, with no seasoning, and I didn't want to mess up the stuffing by putting something on it.

she said, oh you can brush or sprinkle on any seasoning you like and just keep it off the stuffing.       I said, well why hadn't I thought of that?         I had a lot of groceries already, so I made a mental note and finished up and left.       so for the last 2 weeks I've thought about that.

so when I went yesterday, I didn't have a huge amt of groceries to get, so I picked up a pkg of the stuffed salmon.           when supper rolled around, I done as the instruction said and put it in the preheated 375 degree oven for 20 minutes and I used the air fryer to toast up our potatoes bites.         hubby had russet potato bites seasoned with onion and garlic.        I had sweet potatoes seasoned with onion and garlic.     I make these from scratch and keep them in the fridge ready to blasted in the air fryer.     delicious!!!

when I got supper ready, not only was it beautiful, but wowzers, it was delicious!!!!!!!         I can tell you for sure that these will be on my weekly grocery list from now on.         we both just absolutely enjoyed them so much!!          I'm sorry that I didn't take a picture of them, but I will next time.        so I went to the website and took a couple of pics and thought I'd share them so you'll know what to look for.          run, don't walk, to your nearest aldi.         just don't go to mine and buy it all out!!!         I'll hunt you down!!!!         hahahahaha         naw, I was just kidding about that, but don't buy them all out, let others see how wonderful they are.       hahaha

this is what it looks like cooked.           like I said, this is pics pulled from their product area.         I use aldi brand teriyaki sauce and that's what I put on the salmon part of ours and wow wee, was is it ever good!!!         the pics are pixelated due to taking a pic with my cell phone, from my computer screen.

while it worked really well in the oven, I'll be trying it in the air fryer next time.         

if you like salmon, this is for you.        I really wish I had some for lunch today.        hahaha           but I will go to getting this when I don't have a huge grocery bill and put a pkg in the freezer along.        I can't wait to have it again.        and I may even try to figure out a stuffing mix to make my own.

picking back up at Leviticus Chapter 18,  we are still looking at the laws that God is giving His people to live moral lives and not live the way the Egyptians did.         God wanted His people to be set apart and live lives based on the commitment they had made to Him.           sexually pure lives are hard to come by these days, we see it at every turn, with every ad, on every tv program.         immorality at it's best and God expects His people to live lives differently.         the question is; do we?          I don't think so and it shows in the number of broken families, in the number of people that think homosexuality is fine,  homosexuality praised and pushed in many churches and many other ways.          the church should look different than the world, but it doesn't.  a worldly church is a church without Christ and a worldly christian is a lost christian, doomed for hell.

Chapter 19 has a peculiar verse in it.  verse 31.      look at that verse.        do you check out your horoscope when you get the chance to?         I used to also.        not any more, since I read that verse about 20 to 25 years ago.         we defile ourselves by doing that.        ouija boards, reading tea leaves, tarot cards and the like have no place in the life of Christian.          doing these things is considered prostitution.          God actually said that people doing these things are to be put to death in chapter 20. 

Chapter 20 speaks on human sacrifice.          that's a big one for us.         abortion is human sacrifice to cover up the fact that people want to sin, people love to sin, people are addicted to sin and they will easily kill a child because of that sin.         since the 1970's there have been multiple millions of baby's killed, ripped right from the womb.         drs, nurses, women, men; all who have played and are still playing their roles in this atrocity will be held accountable for it.         and I believe that this country is being held accountable for some of it now.         if you can't stop your addiction of having illicit sex with anything that moves, at least go to one of the quacks that does the abortions and get your tubes tied.    at least you won't be murdering babies.   

Chapter 23 speak of the Holy Days that they are to remember.          each appointed time has a significant meaning for the Israelites and they are to remember those appointed times.        now, for us as Christians, what do remember to keep holy, the easter bunny, santa clause and spooks and goblins.       isn't that a shame that right here in our bibles we have the days that are to be remembered.         fast forward to Jesus.          what are the holy days He celebrated and remembered?        the ones mentioned right here in verse 23.

Chapter 24 is more laws and if you ever wondered where "an eye for an eye, a tooth for tooth" came from, right here is where that came from.       and cursing God and taking His name in vain, right in this chapter tells what to do with one who does that.        people say anything and get away with it.        well, maybe they don't, because there is a hell.         that's about it for today.

well, I guess I'll sign off here for the time being.          I hope and pray that when we sit down with God's word that we ask Him to show us what He wants us to see.        if we do that, we'll always see the things in His word that will help us live lives that are pleasing to Him.         we can't do that without Him in our lives.         He has to be the driving force behind everything we do, otherwise, it's all useless and a waste of our time.          let's keep Christ at the forefront of all we do and ask Him to help us see the world thru His eyes.         be ready to have your heart broken too, when we ask to see what He sees.         it's not a pretty place we live in.         lots of evil wicked people and it should break our hearts.        

I pray that we all have a blessed and abundant day ahead of us.        keep Christ at the forefront of it all and it will be spectacular.        blessings of love, peace and joy be yours.          hugs, patty
