Do you Hear what I Hear?

Good morning y'all!!!    It's a beautiful day in my neighbor hood this morning and I hope and pray that is in yours too, where ever y'all are.    In my neck of the woods, the sun is shining brightly.    The birds are singing their songs just outside the living room window.    There is a couple of little frogs that live under a shrub at the side of the house and I can hear them talking to one another.   In my utility room, the washer is spinning a load of clothes and the dryer is drying a load.    In the distance, someone is mowing.    Every once in a while a vehicle will pass by.    A train will roll thru the tracks in the far distance and the engineer will blow the horn, and I will catch myself wondering what kind of goods is on the train and where they are destined for.   And just right next door, the hammering of the roofers putting a new roof on the neighbors house.    They are most excited.    Most of the sounds are just every day normal sounds, but it seems like I notice them more this morning for some reason.    I guess so I can take a moment and just thank God for the ability to hear and enjoy the sounds.   I just hope everyone else is enjoying the morning sounds also.     I have a tendency to take so much for granted.    What I heard and enjoyed yesterday will be heard and enjoyed tomorrow.     That's not necessarily so.     I am not promised tomorrow.     Even if I am blessed to wake up tomorrow morning, I may not be able to hear what I heard yesterday.    I may not be able to see what I seen yesterday.    So, for this moment in time, and just this moment in time, I will make the choice to be happy I can hear and see and enjoy as much around me as possible.    I hope you will too.

I started a small project back in January.     It has been on and around my desk for all this time.    It was something I felt compelled to do, but I didn't know who it was for.    I just knew I had to try to make the picture in my minds eye come to life.     I worked on it for a while and laid it aside.    Because I had taken it as far as I could for that particular time.    I needed to find out exactly who it was for before I could finish it.    Every time I looked at and picked it up, I prayed for whomever God had intended this to be for.    Well, last week it was made clear to me who it was for and I commenced to finishing it.

I hope you enjoy it.     It started off as a postcard.    One of those postcards that you color.     Those that look like the zen tangle stuff.     Upon getting a box of those postcards, I figured out quite quickly, that that type of coloring is not for me.    But,,,,,, it wasn't a loss, because I used the first one of those that I messed up to make this project.     hahaha    Like I said earlier, I started it in January, so I don't remember the process of putting this together.    I know I did use crumpled tissue paper on top of the postcard and then just layers and layers of acrylic paints and then I wrote the scripture on tracing paper and cut that out. I made a bunch of quilled flowers and got those glued on it and that's about as far as I took it at that point.     Then, this past week, I knew who it was meant for, and I finished it up with lots of glitters and colored shell pieces and a couple of different structure pastes, just basically putting the finishing touches on it.    I am so happy with the way this project turned out, even if it did take 8 months to complete.   hahahaha
This is one of my favorite scripture verses.     I guess because God just has to remind me from time to time that I need to quiet myself and let Him be who He is in my life.     Ever been there?
My writing is not that great, but at least it's legible, I think.   hahaha     I added some shell chips that I ordered from Miriam Joy and I just love them.    They are just plain fun to add to any project.    I purposefully put down a big pool of mod podge dimensional and plopped a chip in it and then sprinkled some fine glitter around it and I love the way it looks.
This is just some of the little quilled flowers I had made.    Some of them are about the size of a match stick head and the largest is about thumb nail size.    I will get a bunch of those cut out with my cuttlebug and when its just about bed time, I will sit and make quilled flowers for about 10 to 15 minutes and in a few nights I have enough for a few projects again.
This is sitting in the easel that I just cut out by hand.    They are so easy to cut and I always try to cut one for each card, postcard, tag or atc I make.
I had gotten some new structure paste with sand and glitter in it and I used it on this project and I love it!!!     I even put some on all of the quilled flowers on this postcard and I really like it.
A better shot of what the sand and glitter structure paste looks like.    I just put it on with my fingers.
Another one of the quilled flower clusters on the postcard.
This is the size of it.    I always like to give a good perspective of the size of whatever it is that I have been working on.    So you can see it's about 6 1/4 x 4 1/4.    Now I have to make a box or bag to put it in.

Anyway, that's one of the projects I have been working on and finally got wrapped up.     It feels good to accomplish something, even if it did take more than half the year.    hahaha

One last thought to leave you with before I leave you today.     God doesn't just "show up" when we need Him, He's already there.     No matter what comes your way, God is already there, waiting for you to call on Him, thank Him, praise Him, worship Him.    Don't you enjoy it when a friend wants to spend time with you?     God enjoys it too, when we want to spend time with Him.    Remember, He's already there, He's just waiting on us to "show up".

I hope and pray that each and every one of y'all have a wonderful day.     Listen to some of the sounds around you before your day ends and thank God for your hearing and your sight.    Be blessed in the name of Jesus Christ today and always remember that God loves y'all and I do too!!!!    hugs, Patty

  6. I love that you give the perspective! Those flowers are gorgeous and actually TINY! I thought they were big until I read, and then saw the ruler. Wow! Just lovely - I love that verse also. I have a huge problem with the "being still" part. He is working with me/on me/in me . . . on patience and on waiting and knowing He has everything in His mighty hand. Beautiful work!

    1. Ohhhh Hi Donna!!! Thanks so much for your comment. Yes, some of the flowers are so small that a slight sneeze or deep breath and they are gone. hahaha I always try to give a perspective if I can remember to do so, I think it really helps me when I can see something next to something else. I hear you on patience and waiting on the Lord. He has to get me to be still so much of the time. Thank you for your encouragement, I really appreciate it!! hugs, patty

  7. Gosh Patty, you must be so patient making those gorgeous little flowers but they are so much nicer than the bought ones. I enjoyed reading your thoughts on the day and you are absolutely right. Sometimes I like to look at the sky and the clouds just to contemplate how lucky we are and what a wonderful and amazing planet we live on. Thanks for the lovely comments over at mine and wishing you a lovely crafty weekend, Angela x
