Fun Project

Good evening folks!    I pray that y'all have had a wonderful day where ever you are.    I got up this morning to a bit of rain and it has been a bit cooler today, here in my neck of the woods.   That has been a welcome relief from some of the heat we have had so early in the spring.

I have a project to show y'all.   I'm not gonna say what it's for or who it's for, in case Ladybug Momma may be reading this before I see her.   ggggg    We are planning on running up to see my mother out of state for a bit and I have been working on this project for a while and finished up today with the box.

This wonderful project comes from  Extreme Cards and Papercrafting at:

This was a fun project.   The box for the card came from:

http://ligayatg.blogspot.com/

Ligaya shares her files with followers of her blog.   She has some amazing designs.  I love all she does and am a fan for sure.

I hope you enjoy what you see.
I love that it looks like your looking outside of your kitchen window, overlooking your favorite flower box.
I did not realize until I had already finished the card and moved on, that the stem on my daffodil in the very center is a bit too short.  Oh well!!!   I'm am still waiting for me to get my act together and make something right.  ggg
This was really such a fun project.   When I got all my little flowers made and in the box, I used some of my liquid glittery goodness and blinged up the flowers a bit and that just made me happy.   Gotta get my bling on!  gggggg
This is the backside of the flower box.   I really love the flowers.  They can be used for so many different projects.
For the curtains, I dug around in my stash of stuff, (technical term) and found some of those paper doilies that you can buy in pkgs. of 20 or 30 for a little of nothing and I used a whole one and a half of another one.   I cut both in half and adhered one to the top with a section of gross grain ribbon to gather in the center.  Then I done the same thing on the sides and I think it turned out to be the perfect little curtains.
The finishing element to this card is the box with a piece of acrylic in the window and a piece of sheer wide ribbon just tied in a tight, square knot.   I loved the simplicity of the ribbon.   I sure hope y'all have enjoyed looking at this project and I hope you get some ideas.   Also, check out the blogs that I posted to see what they are up to.   I so appreciate the kindness and generosity of so many across the web waves that give freely of their time and talents.

As I leave you this evening, I leave you with one of the commandments from the Ten Commandments.   It is the first of the commandments with a promise in it.

Exodus 20:12  Honor thy father and thy mother, that thy days may be long in the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee.

God wanted His people to live in peace down through the generations in the land that He promised them.  He wanted His people to have a respect for authority.   Respect for authority starts at home; or at least it should start at home.   We live in a day and time when there is little to no respect for authority; in the homes, in the schools, in the work places or anywhere else.   We are bombarded from the air waves, modern music, tv programs with children treating their parents with utter disrespect.   Children telling parents what to do.   To use just a little bit more bad grammar, "that ain't right!"

The word "honor" means to value or treasure; acting in ways that shows courtesy and respect to them.   God places great value on the position of parents, so, God is telling us that we are to value our parents.  (We are not to obey or honor anyone; parents included, if it means disobeying God.)   God wants us to have strong families across the world and in order to have strong families, that starts with proper respect of parents.   The basis for a stable society literally starts with stable families.

I know a lot of people will be celebrating Mother's Day this weekend and I hope and pray as you do that you remember this scripture and the promise that comes with it.  To all you wonderful Mom's out there, I say "Happy Mother's Day" to you!   I can't wait to get to see my mother.

Ladybug, sweet pea loves you!  Thanks for being my Mom!!

Good night y'all, God loves you and so do I.   hugs, Patty
