Bible Study and Homemade Greek Yogurt

good morning my sweet friends.          it is another brisk, cool morning in my neck of the woods.         as I sit here typing, I do notice it to be unusually quiet.         I don't hear any traffic going by, close, or out on the highway.          I haven't heard the train go by this morning and that's unusual.          I haven't heard an dogs barking and that even more unusual.         hahaha          there's usually some birds out doing their birdy things, but I think everything and everyone has decided to be quiet until it warms up a little bit.         I told someone I was ready to get my money back on the first 2 weeks of the year.    hahaha          oh well, if I know me, and I do, I know will be all too soon that I'll be complaining about the heat.        hahaha         I'll bet some of y'all will too.          well, I'm about ready to start my day.    Lord, let's make it a great day today.

------------

picking back up at Leviticus 8, something has really stood out to me.           there are lots of laws, lots of blood, lots of sacrifice and just lots to do to be in right relationship with the I AM THAT I AM.       there just is.          the thing that struck me is this.          how willing are we to be in complete obedience with our Father God?         in and of ourselves, there is NO way could ever follow all of these laws.         we just couldn't.         right here, in this midst of following all that God had required, we see that as we are, in the flesh, there's no way we could ever follow the law closely enough to be in right relationship with our Father.        praise Him for the Cross of Christ!!        they built the tabernacle to God's specifications, they were obedient to God.         this side of the Cross, if we know Christ as Lord and Savior, we are the tabernacle for Holy Spirit to reside in at all times.

we see that 2 of Aarons sons were killed by God for offering strange fire to God.         they done something that God had not told them to do.         that was another hard lesson learned.        I don't fully understand all this, I just keep saying that I'm happy to be on this side of the Cross of Christ.

one of the things we see in some of these chapters is putting blood on the right ear lobe, on the thumb of the right hand and the big toe of the right foot.        the significance of this is to be in obedience of hearing the commands of God, doing the commands of God and walking out the commands of God.         may our eyes always see what God puts before us, may our hands always want to serve those as God commands and may our feet take us to greatest need that God has put before us.  may be do all that He has planned for us to do, thru the shed blood of Jesus Christ.        may we see, do and go as God directs us.

as I continue to read Leviticus, I'm so thankful for the Cross.         I think this is one of the main things that I'm taking away, this time, from the book of Leviticus.         Jesus is the atoning sacrifice for me.   Praise God!!!!           Blood has always been identified with life.         when Jesus shed His life's blood for me, that was enough.

all of this is hard for me to reconcile my brain, so since I don't fully understand it all, I try to focus on and be grateful for the shed blood of my Savior.         I don't know why He done it for me, but I'm sure thankful today that He did.          thank You Jesus!!!!

let's do this again.         you know the drill by now.          you know, "2 minutes in the kitchen with me", yeah, that's what I'm talking about.          hahaha            I had used just about all my lsst batch of yogurt, so this time I decided once the yogurt was made, I'd make some greek yogurt.          I make my yogurt in my instant pot using the cold start method.           see how thick it just after about 15 hours.

so once I seen how thick it was and done a little taste of it, it was ready to strain.         I used my strainer basket lined with a flour sack towel and twisted up the excess towel and laid it on top of the yogurt.  if you let tail of the flour sack towel hang out in the fridge, the whey will get all over your shelves.        I learned that the hard way.        hahaha

the below pic is what the yogurt looks like after about 5 hours in the fridge, it was ready to come out and put in a bowl.          it's thick like sour cream, actually thicker.           and it is so darn good.

so this is what it looks like in the bowl.           it's so thick and rich and creamy.

this is a pic of the greek yogurt and the whey.             I'll use some of the whey to help make the next batch yogurt.        I'll use some of it a batch of bread.          you can use it in just about anything, like using it in soups or beans, cooking pasta and potatoes.         just put it in anything really.

this little batch of yogurt will last me about a week.         so I'll be making more soon.        I hope if you've never tried making yogurt before, that you'll give it a try.      it just takes a little time.        that's why I start it later in the evening and then it will be ready to sometime in the morning.         give it a try soon, you'll love it.            and I have to say that this is one of the best batches of greek yogurt I've ever made.         it's not gonna last a week.            hahaha

------------------------

well, that's just about all I have today.         let's pray for those that need our prayers.        all the sickness going around, people having lost loved ones, all the fires in California, the people in North Carolina that are still dealing with the ravages of Helene and all the other people dealing with weather related problems.        if we're not dealing with something like that, just be thankful.       there is so much to be in prayer for and that's one way we can be in obedience to the Lord.       I hope you seen something here today that you enjoyed.         I hope you're reading the bible thru from front to back this year.        I pray that you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior!!!!         may you be blessed beyond measure today and every day.         hugs and love, patty
