Bible Study and update on my tomatoes

good morning beautiful friends.           I think this morning I am missing my one hour of sleep because we sprang ahead sometime last night.          I'm not a fan of losing my hour of sleep, but I'd gladly let whoever keep it, if we could just stay one or the other and not be changing 2 times a year.         I'm so over it, now all the clocks all have to be changed.            the clocks in the vehicles have to be changed and I'm over it.          ok, so who do I tell "stop it"?           I'll certainly tell them to stop it the next time I see them, if I just knew who.         hahaha          so if you can stop it, please do.          well, I guess we're stuck with it.          I may just rebel and not reset my clocks and just declare my home and myself and my husband not changing our time!!!          reckon that would work?         probably not, but I may try.      I'll let you know if we're successful.          hahaha

--------------

so, let's do a quick "2 minutes in the garden with me" this time.           this is a recent pic of my tomatoes that I got up-potted from my indoor hydroponic system a week or so ago.           they are doing great so far.           an below the tomatoes, you can also see my peppers that I got up-potted too.

the tomatoes in the round container are all really small varieties.  the plants themselves shouldn't be any larger than maybe a foot tall when they reach maturity.          and they all should pump out a ton of tomatoes.

these are the regular sized tomatoes,  sun gold variety and I can't remember off the top of my head what the other variety is.          they will be large plants that just keep growing and growing in height.

I hope I can get a few more seeds started for more peppers and possibly more tomatoes.        there's plenty of time for me to do so.         even later tomatoes and peppers will be fantastic.          so we'll see how the season goes.           I hope that y'all are planning your gardens and possibly even have some produce started by now.         I guess it all depends on where you live on this big, beautiful globe.

Happy Gardening to all of us!!!!!

------------------------------

giggle for the day:

Q - Why did the scarecrow win an award?

A - Because he was outstanding in his field.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

----------------------------

today we pick up with Ecclesiastes 1,  futility, all is futile.        what is important.        where does God fit into our lives?          we live and we die.        where is God in our lives?        is our efforts worth the effort?          do we waste time chasing after what ever we're chasing after?         all is meaningless and useless.          is that so?          this book will ultimately show us that unless we are focusing on God, everything we do is meaningless!!!!!

Ecclesiastes 2,  Solomon tried to find meaning in pleasure and things.         he didn't find meaning in those things.          he tried to find meaning in wisdom, but he didn't find meaning.          he tried to find meaning in working, but it wasn't found in work.

Ecclesiastes 3,  there is a time for everything in our lives and that the seasons of our lives are changing.   the best we can do is accept the changes as part of God's grand plan.        we should trust in God's plan for our lives, He knows it all, we don't.

Ecclesiastes 4,  envy and jealousy are futile.          he says that work with another person is better than work done by just one person.        if there is 2 and one falls, one can help the other one up.       having friends and neighbors is good.

Ecclesiastes 5,   fear God and don't love riches.

Ecclesiastes 6,   wealth is futile.        so what if you have wealth and don't enjoy it.         there is such a thing as too much materialistic things, and they don't bring happiness.

Ecclesiastes 7,    wisdom and foolishness, neither brings happiness.            be humble, compassionate and righteous.           these attributes are pleasing to God.

Ecclesiastes 8,    God will punish the wicked and He will take care of the righteous.

next time we will pick up at Ecclesiastes 9.

---------------------------------------------------

I guess this is where we will call is a wrap.           I hope and pray the we will all continue to search after the heart of God in all that we do.         this is one that is NOT futile.       this is something that will lead to eternal glory.        I hope and pray that we all have a great day today and that we thank God that we get to be a part of it for a little while.         blessings of humility and grace be ours today.

hugs and love, patty

Bible Study and Up-potted Tomatoes

good morning wonderful friends.           we had a good day yesterday and plan on today being good one today as well.          God made it, so it will have to be a good day.        yesterday, we went to Lowes and I finally got some more container soil, so I'll be working on getting some of my containers filled and ready to plant seeds in or set my starts in when the right time rolls around.        the wind has howled and it's rained some.          it was a really windy night and this morning is starting to be windy also.       lots of trees came down in the county last night, taking out electricity across the county.      so I don't know what all else it will do, but I just hope it calms down today.         we got our walk in yesterday morning early and while we was walking, there was wood pecker that was really making a lot noise trying to get at his early morning snack.       I'm always hearing them and mentioning them, but I do love hearing a wood pecker.          when we still lived in another state, there was a metal grain bin in the far back corner of where the yard and the farm started, and the crazy wood peckers would land on that grain bin and sit there pecking on it for hours at a time!!!!        I wish I could have taken a recording of it, but I didn't think about it at the time.        but if you ever hear it, it's hilarious.       I'll tell you what I'd love to hear tonight.        an owl.      we used to have 2 pairs of owls that hung out in the trees close by, and it was an awesome sound to hear them calling to each other.        the 2 pairs of owls were different.       so their calls to each other were different sounding and it was such an awesome experience to hear their calls to one another.        I love the sounds of nature and birds.          it just seems they help to make all the turmoil going on around us all the time, a little more bearable.

---------------------------------

so, lets do "2 minutes in the kitchen with me" and we'll talk tomatoes.            so I had started tomatoes in one of my Dak Ride hydroponic systems I had gotten form amazon last year.         I started these on Feb 3rd.           I took them from the hydro unit on Feb 26th and put them in solo cups with holes in the bottom so the seed starter soil can soak up water.           to do this, I have to keep the tomatoes very wet for the first week or so, to transition them from water to soil.          these are my small ones, mini, dwarfs, and tom thumb types.        they won't get very large at all, but they will produce like nobody's business.

the ones below are the full sized tomatoes that I'm growing.          they were really big, should have been taken out of the hydro about a week or so ago, but weather wasn't permitting that.

I got all of my tomatoes out in the sprout house in the garage with the grow lights and heat mats and everything is set.         I hope it's enough to protect them from any severe cold that we may have coming up before spring arrives.

this is a great way to start your own seeds and they will quickly pay for themselves when you check out the prices of seed starts at some of the places that sell them.        plus you have a great satisfaction knowing you grew them yourself.         I always say that I plant, then I pray and let God do the rest.
----------------------------------------

it's time for our little "giggle for the day":

Q - Where do you learn to make banana splits?
A - At sundae school.

well, now I want ice cream!!!!😂😂😂😂😂

---------------------------

starting at Psalm 120,  have you ever cried for deliverance?     false accusations, lying tongues, deceitful people are ruthless and relentless, but God hears our cries and He answers those who call out to Him.

Psalm 121, this is one of my absolute favorites.   kjv says "I will lift mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help!!"       help comes from no one but the Lord!!!!    such a beautiful psalm and we should be confident that God will do what He has said He'll do!!!      He is our help!!!

Psalm 122, there is joy in worshiping God together with others of like minded faith.     when we gather with others and worship God, we share in the unity among brothers and sisters in Christ.

Psalm 123, praying to God is always the best place to start when in a time of trouble.       when we keep our eyes on God, we're looking in the right place.   we can be encouraged when we call on God because we know He hears us.

Psalm 124, guess what, makes no difference how strong we may be, were if not for the Lord on our side, we will not be successful!!      it's always God's victory, not ours.

Psalm 125, we need to remember that wicked people will only be around for while.      their rule is temporary and we will not affected by them forever.      they will meet their demise.      God is our protector.

Psalm 126, we can rest assured that God will restore everything that the enemy has taken from us.     God is the one turns tears to joy!!       I need to remember this.

Psalm 127,  this psalm shows us just how dependent on God we actually are.      unless God is in what ever you may be doing, it's all useless and a waste of time.

Psalm 128, do we fear the Lord?         do we walk in His ways?        are loving our families and neighbors and good citizens of the community in which we live?         if so, then we are living our lives based on how important God is to us.      we are living a life that honors God.

Psalm 129, are you excited when problems come your way?         probably not, but need to remember and have confidence that the justice of God will set things straight.

Psalm 130, in the Lord and only in the Lord, we will find redemption!!!!!     Praise God!!!!

Psalm 131, trusting in God will soothe the soul, just like a loving Momma can soothe a child.       such a beautiful picture of the presence of God in our lives.

Psalm 132, we can trust God to fulfill the promises that He has made to His people!!!       our hope is in the Lord and Him alone!!

Psalm 133, we can worship God in unity.        unity among God's people is something that He will bless in a mighty way.

Psalm 134, may we serve the Lord regardless of any circumstances and may we ask the Lord to bless others, even while we're in difficult times ourselves.

Psalm 135, in this psalm we see it all.         God is good.       God is great.       God is faithful.        God is greatly to be praised!!!!

Psalm 136, do you ever wonder about the goodness of God?       if so, this is the psalm for you.       it's definitely a favorite!!!          His faithfulness is everlasting!!!!

Psalm 137, this world is not our home.      we're just passing thru.        if you ever feel like you're not at home in this world, guess what, you're not.       our salvation and safety and our home is with the Lord!!

Psalm 138, our thanks, praises and worship is given to God because of His mercy and faithfulness, even in the midst of troubles and trials.

Psalm139,  where can go to get away from God?     absolutely no where!!        we are fearfully and wonderfully made by the Creator of all things, God!!!       there is nothing He doesn't know about us.    He knows it all, praise Him!!!

Psalm 140, we all need to rescued and protected from the wicked people around us.      God is who will give us that protection.

Psalm 141, do you ever feel like you need a guard over your mouth and your heart protected?      we all do and God the is One we call on!!!

Psalm 142, when we are living in fear, we can call out to God for His help!!!        do you ever feel afraid and alone?        David knew that feeling and he cried out to God.

Psalm 143,sometimes we need to meditate on all that God done for us and ask Him to teach us His ways.

Psalm 144, rock, fortress, stronghold, shield, a new song to sing........ what a mighty God we serve!!!!

Psalm 145, great is the Lord and greatly to be praised!!!!!!  we can never praise Him enough for all He has done for us.

Psalm 146, Praise the Lord, O my soul!!!!!   God is the only One we can trust!!!!!

Psalm 147, God is creator of all and in Him is redemption.       praise God!!!

Psalm 148, all of creation is called on to praise the Lord!!!

Psalm 149,  sing praises to God, sing new songs, make music on the tambourines, praise God in all circumstances!!!

Psalm 150, do you want to know when and where to praise God.        at all times and where ever you are.        anywhere and everywhere and at all times is the perfect time and place to praise God!!!

well, we made a whirlwind trip thru the Psalms.      next time we'll start on Proverbs.

-------------------------------

well, that's a wrap for today.       if you're in harms way of weather rolling thru your area, stay alert and stay safe.         I pray that we will praise God at all times and that we continue to be seeking after the heart of God in all that we do.         I pray that we all have a great day today and that we remember to be thankful to God for it.       blessings of peace and mercy be ours today.

Bible Study and tomatoes

good morning my awesome friends!!!!            I pray that each and every one of you are doing fabulous today.           I hope that you have a great day ahead.           I already know that we have a busy week ahead.          a lot of it will be outside and I do look forward to that.        we both have been cooped up in the house and eating a lot of wonderful meals.         doesn't sound too bad does it?          well, it's great if you can be active and burn a  few calories.        hahaha          but a snow week is not the time to eat everything in sight.        we didn't overindulge, we're just usually more active than we were this past week.        so, I'm hoping to get the activity level a little higher.         I need to pay a visit to aldi, I need to get the utility bill paid, get some meds refilled, we need to go to the bank, a dr's appt, have the oil changed in the car and the tires rotated.         it seems everything piles up when it snows.        just like a snow drift, it all piles up.          so it will be good to get all this behind us and do some fun stuff outside.

-----------------

so this will be a little different "2 minutes in the kitchen with me" today, but it should be a good one.      I know I have been talking about my tomato plants in my hydroponic unit, well, I thought I would introduce you to my little toms!!          they are doing soooooo good and I hope to get them put in solo cups this week and out in the little sprout house in the garage where I have grow lights and heat pads for them to sit on.        it will keep the warm at night.         then if for some reason, it's going to turn off colder than we have planned on, my husband has another area fixed up where we can move them to and it will keep them much warmer.         so I think it will be ok to go ahead and get them put in the graage with the grow light and heat mats.

I just pray that they all make it.           this pic was taken a week or more ago, so they have grown a lot more now.          I'm looking forward to good tomatoes from these and they should produce well, we'll just have to wait and see.         what all are you growing this year?

----------------------------

I think it's time for our "giggle for the day":

Q - What does corn say when it gets a compliment?

A - Aw, shucks!

😂😂😂  I know, I know, it was a little corny!!   bada bing bada boom!!  hahaha

--------------------------

let's pick back up in the book of Psalms with Psalm 9.         I don't know of any other person in the bible that praised God as much as David did.         we would all do well to strive to praise God like David did at all times.          David was continuously asking God to see those who hated him and done evil towards him.          he was thankful for God's justice.         he referred to God as a stronghold for the oppressed and a stronghold in a time of trouble.       I have found that to be true, and I'll just imagine you have found that to be true also.       He is always faithful and just.       He makes Himself known and He always executes justice.        praise Him!!!

Psalm 10 is talking about the wicked people.        how they desire the wrong things, they curse, oppress and lie.           the lurk around and pull people into their snares.        David cries out to the Lord to help the humble, the orphan and to strengthen them and vindicate the orphaned and the oppressed.        David asks Him to seek the wicked till no more could be found.         I agree with David, Lord seek the wicked till no more can be found.

Psalm 11, David is talking about the Lord being a place to take refuge.        I find comfort in that and a sense of peace that knows we need His comfort and He makes Himself our refuge, a place of comfort away from the evil.        the Lord loves the righteous and we who are righteous will see Him.       I look forward to seeing all that God is.

Psalm 12, David reminds us that God is our helper against the treacherous.         people speak only lies and have flattering lips and a double heart.        and a double heart is not a good thing.         hypocrisy and deceit are on their tongues.        they say one thing while they mean something else.       sounds very familiar.        from all the power houses across this planet we see hypocrisy and deceit at it's best.        it's in all the government, in every government across this planet.         they are not genuine and they have hidden agendas.          does this sound familiar at all?          it should.       we all see it play out all across this earth.       wicked people in high places.         we just have to remember that God is judge and He is just.

Psalm 13, David asked the Lord if He will forget him forever.          have ever wanted to ask the Lord that same thing?          I'll bet you have.       David said he would trust God's faithfulness.        that's good for me to remember.         do you ever sing to the Lord?         David did, and I do too sometimes.       when I'm in the kitchen, I'm usually singing out loud to Lord, or silently in my heart, but either way, I'm singing to the Lord.

Psalm 14, the fool has said in his heart, there is no God.         it truly is a fool that says that.      are there any who act wisely and seek God?         but the Lord is the righteous persons refuge.

Psalm 15, tells of the unshakable person.         there is no deceit in him, a person of integrity, righteous, speaks with truth in his heart, no slander, no harm to his neighbor, no shame to his friend, despises despicable people, he honors those who fear the Lord, doesn't change, doesn't take a bribe.      these are the people who will settle on His holy hill!!

Psalm 16, David has put the Lord before him continually.       he thinks on the Lord both day and night and because God is at His right hand, he will not be shaken.        David was seeking after the heart of God and he found it.         David wasn't perfect, he sinned, but he repented and he kept seeking after the heart of God.        God didn't remember David for his sin, he remember David because he was continuously seeking after the heart of God.

Psalm 17, David had asked God to keep him as the apple of his eye and to keep him in the shelter of his wings.         these are two very comforting things to think about.

Psalm 18,  God had rescued David from Saul and David wrote a most beautiful song of praise to and for God.         there are some very powerful words in this song.          strength, rock, fortress, savior, shield, horn of my salvation, stronghold, and worthy to be praised.       do a word study on "horn of my salvation" sometime and see what all that encompasses.      this is a very powerful song of praise to be read back to God during a time of trouble.

Psalm 19, and David tells the Lord that the law of the Lord is perfect, restores the soul, makes the simple wise, makes the heart rejoice, enlightens the eyes, sweeter than honey, purer than gold and endures forever.         he desires the words of his mouth and meditations of his heart be acceptable in the sight of the Lord.       that is my desire also.       I love the words of David in this psalm.

Psalm 20, David was praising God for victory and he said some praise their chariots, some praise the horses, but David will praise the name of the Lord.        what a powerful statement.         in all of David's success, he stayed humble.         that's why he could praise God in such a mighty way.          with a lot of people, a little popularity goes to their head, David remained humble.

next time we pick up with Psalm 21.

---------------------------

well, I guess that's about it for this morning.          I pray that we all have a great day today and that we can be seen seeking after the heart of God.       what better way to spend our time.        we have some things to get done today and I hope we can find time to praise God for being the lifter of our head, for being our rock, our fortress, our strength and all the other many attributes we learned about Him today.    I think it's fair to say that God, thru the shed blood of His Son, Jesus Christ, is enough!!!         He's enough to meet our every need.         the world tells us we need more of whatever there is to get more of.         but God is enough!!!         blessings of peace and grace be ours today.         hugs and love, patty
