Bible Study

good morning y'all!!!!!        we made it thru another day and night of the wet stuff.        there has been a lot of flooding and even if it stops raining, there will be a crest stage and more flooding in some areas.    plus, for the next few nights, we're gonna have some very cold temps again.        I keep reminding myself that God is in control of it all.         right here in my area, we've had over 10 inches of rain since it started wednesday or thursday.         hopefully it will stop raining soon.         but I already know that it will turn off hot and dry this summer and we'll be wishing for some of this rain.        at any rate, we've got water for now.          I have 11 tomatoes that have sprouted in my hydroponics, one more that's trying real hard to sprout, I hope it goes ahead and sprouts.          I have 3 or 4 strawberries that have sprouted too.         I'm excited about that.         once my tomatoes get big enough to remove from the hydros, I plan on starting some more hot peppers.          didn't very many of my original batch survive or even sprout.         most of them developed a mold or algae on the peat sponge used to sprout the seed.        they have been trying to do that this time, but I'll keep the algae or mold down with a spritz of peroxide, it seems to be working.         anyway, that's about all I got going on for now.

A - Because 7, 8, 9!

get it?         got it!         hahaha

---------------------------------

picking up with Ezekiel Chapter 26,          what is everlasting?          humility, righteousness and obedience to God is what's everlasting.          pride, arrogance and wicked behavior is destructive and ungodly and does not last.        wealth, beauty and stuck up behavior does not last.        pride leads to spiritual blindness and separation from God.         God is in control.       we can always trust His plans and purposes.          we may not understand it all and we don't have to, we just need to trust God and know that He is merciful and just in all He does.        we have to believe that God has the power to change our lives.         do we really believe that?

Chapter 27,           worldly wealth and power does not last, nor does it stand up to the judgement of God.  only a godly character will stand the trials of life.         people will try to tear you down at every turn, but stand firm on the word of God.         where do you place your faith and trust?          wealth and riches of this world, or are leaning on God thru faith?          the choice is ours and it makes a difference.       trust God's plans and timing, because He is in control!!

Chapter 28,            there is mercy and restoration for those who turn to God and recognize that He is in control of everything.         do you have a prideful attitude, if so seek humility from God.         He'll help us when we come to Him in repentance.         we have to recognize that all beauty, talent and wisdom comes from God and they have to treated as the gifts that they are.         use those gifts to glorify God.

Chapter 29,            no matter how rich and powerful a nation is, they are under God's control!!!!        we have to know that God is over all nations and leaders!!!!         God has a plan even when we see only chaos.         God is faithful to His promises even in times of chaos and uncertainty.         we have to pray for God's wisdom in all things and pray that He accomplishes His will even amidst the chaos.

Chapter 30,             pride and disobedience lead to the downfall of a nation.         that still happens today and we may be seeing it sooner than later.        if we have pride in our lives, we need to repent of that and soon.         take heed to the warnings in scripture and how they can apply to us today.        what are modern day idols that we need to get rid of.          anything that we put over the importance of God in our lives is an idol.        we need to get rid of what ever it is.

we pick up at Chapter 31 next time.

-------------------------------------

this is where we'll end it today.         I keep reminding us to seek after the heart of God for a reason.      go back and look at the life of David.          David was a man that sunk very low into sin and he kept on sinning.         it was all choices he made.          sin in our lives always start with something we see and then we think on it too long and get lazy in our relationship with the Lord.       first thing you know, we are neck deep in something that has swallowed us up.         just like David.          but we also know that David repented of his sins.         thru it all, Davis was a man after God's own heart.        so I keep reminding myself that I need to keep seeking after the heart of God in all that I do.        when we keep focused on God, then our heart and mind is in the right place.        stay focused on the eternal victory and not what the enemy throws at our feet.         he wants us to fail.        he wants us to damage our integrity, but God wants us to stand strong or fall at His feet for strength to stay the course.        God's plan will always succeed, even amid the chaos.          so stay strong and courageous in this world and focus on God.         blessings of strength and courage be ours.

hugs and love, patty
